Founder, The Law Office of Amy Osman

Amy Osman B.A., LL.B. (Hons), LL.M.

Amy Osman is a dedicated legal professional with a strong academic and community-focused background. She began her legal journey at the University of Windsor, followed by a scholarship to the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, where she earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with honours. She further advanced her legal education by completing a Global Professional Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Toronto.

With over a decade of experience in the legal field, Amy founded Your Choice Paralegals Professional Corporation in 2012 to provide affordable legal representation to low-income individuals and families in Windsor. Her work focused on empowering marginalized communities through both legal services and educational workshops.

Amy is also a committed educator and mentor. She previously taught in the Paralegal and Social Justice Legal Studies programs at St. Clair College and has served on the college’s Paralegal Program Advisory Committee for more than twelve years.

Beyond her professional practice, Amy is deeply engaged in community service. She volunteers with various organizations and is a current board member for Learning Disabilities of Windsor Essex, where she advocates for inclusive access to education and justice for individuals with learning challenges, advocacy, and integrity.

Cross-Border Counsel (U.S.–Canada)

Stuart G. Friedman J.D.

Stuart Friedman is a dual-licensed lawyer in Michigan and Ontario, providing cross-border legal support as co-counsel with Amy Osman. Based in Southfield, Michigan, with an affiliated office in Windsor, Mr. Friedman brings over 30 years of legal experience to complex matters spanning immigration, criminal appeals, Interpol Red Notices, and international prisoner transfers.

He is particularly sought after for his expertise in navigating the intersection of U.S. and Canadian criminal law, often appearing before the Michigan Supreme Court and authoring key publications on appellate issues. A long-time board member of the Criminal Defense Lawyers of Michigan, he regularly advises on the cross-border impact of convictions and licensing matters involving criminal allegations.

Mr. Friedman also represents clients facing politically motivated Interpol Red Notices, liaising with Interpol’s CCF and international authorities to challenge improper listings. He assists incarcerated individuals with prisoner transfer applications under the U.S.–Canada treaty and helps clients secure work permits and visas.

He is admitted to multiple U.S. and Canadian courts and is an active member of AILA, NACDL, CBA, OBA, and CDL-Michigan. Beyond his practice, Mr. Friedman is an accomplished speaker, writer, musician, and traveler, with a deep commitment to justice across borders.
